What is My Digital Studio?

My Digial Studio (MDS) is so much more than a digital scrapbooking program. Of course you can create scrapbook pages, but also you can create greeting cards, postcards (imagine the possibilities for holiday greetings), business flyers, calendars at so much more. How do you get it?

You can download the software through my online store just by clicking here. Then click on SHOP NOW. Then click on the MDS logo (as pictured below below). You may also simply click on the logo below, but be sure to select me, Michelle Gray, as your demonstrator of choice when placing your order at my website.

What do you do once you try it and like it?

Once the 30-day free trial period is over, you can purchase the downloadable or disc version of the software to continue using it. You'll simply open up the trial version you already have on your computer, and will be prompted to enter the product registration key you received after purchasing the software. (You'll receive this key via e-mail if you purchase the downloadable version, and you'll find it along with your shipped software if you purchase the disc version.) 

 

Here's some samples I made using MDS. First a page about our dogs. Second a flyer for a business I'm no longer in (since I make my own jewelry). Lastly, a card.

MY DIGITAL STUDIO USED FOR MY OTHER BUSINESS

I love using the Stampin' Up! "My Didital Studio" (MDS) program and just created a flier for my other business. Last week I added Jewel Kade to my line of fashion accessories products, "It's In the Bag" and wanted feature a specific item for Valentine's day. I posted my flier to my Facebook wall and to my Facebook Fan page. I got a lot of great response from my FB friends and fans as well as my fellow Stampin' Up demonstrators and Jewel Kade stylists. Below is the flier I created. Pretty huh?

MORE MDS FUN

I am having so much fun with My Digital Studio, MDS and I am so glad I bought it. It's so much faster than real paper crafting. Plus you can be more generous with the embellishments - brads, ribbons, etc. - since they new run out! And you can print your creations on your own color printer.

Below is the card I just created in MDS. I wasn't yet ready to face the mess in the kitchen or in my office/studio this AM, so I made this card instead of searching out my old favorite puzzle site. Every element I used in this card came with the program. And it doesn't have to be just a sympathy card. It can be made into a birthday card or any other sentiment that fits the top layer. Of course, the top layers can be re-sized to fit whatever sentiment you like.

One of the main reasons I ordered this program was to pre-design things before making it with real cardstock, Designer Series Papers (DSP) or accessories, so I don't waste materials trying things that don't look good together. And I can pre-view new products with the downloads before I order the real DSP, etc.

NEW OBSESSION

I used to play computer card games and jigsaw puzzles. It gave me a sense of accomplishment when I'd win, but it was false accomplishment and it was addicting. So I completely removed all games and puzzles from my PC, 'cuz I was wasting way too much time. Like a drunk having to have just one more, I kept playing just one more round for hours. Ugh! What a waste!

I'm excited that I have a new obsession that is truly productive. My new obsession is "My Digital Studio", aka MDS . OMGosh! It's so much fun. You've already seen my first practice project using a template included with the program. Click here for that post. With the help of Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends with lots of experience in MDS, I was able to make my first card totally from scratch. I already have lots of experience with editing pictures using Adobe Photoshop, so I was able to figure out most things by a little trial and error.

The background paper in the card below is from the 2010-2011 Occasions mini-catalog, not yet released. (If you've ordered from me recently and you're on my mailing list, you'll have your Occasions mini-catalog hard copy soon.) I placed my pre-order of products from the new mini yesterday and can hardly wait to play with it. Love the smell of new Designer Series Papers, DSP.

SOME QUICK PRACTICING WITH MDS

Today I uploaded my new "My Digital Studio" program from Stampin' Up! and spent a little time playing around with a pre-made card design. The program seems pretty user friendly, especially if you done anything with any other photo or graphic manipulating/editing program.

First I found a holiday card template I liked that came with the program. Added dotted border to show card edges.

Then I moved the elements around some and added brads all over. I also made the main card background the same color as the narrow Certainly Celery strip on the right and added a couple mats under the sentiment stamp image.

 

Lastly, I went back and added drop shadows to all of the elements to make each look more 3 dimensional. It's especially noticeable on the sentiment mat.

 

That's all the playing around I have time for today. I am very excited about the possibilities this new program opens up to me.

SO EXCITED TODAY!

I just got my Online Spectacular order and can hardly wait to upload the My Digital Studio program to my PC. I've been waiting since it was released for it to go on sale. Will let you know when I get certified in using it so you can count on me to be "an expert" with it for when you have questions.

 
 

I got other fun stuff too, ALL on sale. Yea, I love making a buck go father. I'll share samples using those products ASAP.

Also exciting, as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I get to place my pre-order starting today for the new products in the 2011 Occasions and Sale-a-bration mini-catalogs. I can't post those minis to my blog yet (per SU! rules), but will as soon as allowed. (Or you can email me and I'll email the pdfs to you).

As usual, I have sticky tabs on nearly every page of both minis for my wish list.
